Laurie Rund is a Research Assistant Professor of Animal Sciences.  Her research is focused on developing biomedical models, with current efforts directed at creating a porcine model of cancer.

Laurie is an alumna of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.  She received her M.S. in Veterinary Physiology at Texas A&M University and Ph.D. in Animal Sciences from the University of Georgia.  Prior to returning to the University of Illinois, Laurie completed an National Institutes of Health postdoctoral fellowship at The Jackson Laboratory, Bar Harbor, Maine.
