Launched in 1977, the Bristol-Myers Squibb Freedom to Discover Grants and Awards Program embodies an innovative vision of partnership between private industry and academic research to promote innovative scientific discovery.

Grant funding will be used to study the developing intestinal ecosystem in the neonate using the pig as a model.  A better understanding of the developing intestinal ecosystem may hold the key to prevention of several important diseases.
